The following appeared in the Times Herald Record
Robert J. Stein of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a retired Musician and
Band Leader
and a long time area resident died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at home. He was 71.

enjoyed his
antique car collection of P1800 Volvos; he was a gun collector, horse trainer and raised
sheep.

at home; two sons,
Clifford L. Stein and his wife Lisa of White Sulphur Springs, NY and Russell L. Stein of
Rock Hill, NY;

funeral home. The Rev. David McCarthy will officiate.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home
West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
PS:
While the obituary says he was a member of VSA, it didn't mention that
he was a Life member
in that organization. He was saddened by the recent turn of events in that organization
and tried to
return the club to the membership. He felt the current leadership ignores democratic
procedures,
the recent staged elections (of the past few years) and gerrymandering are inexcusable.
He became a member of VCOA at the end and wanted to continue to work for the good of the 1800 owner.
He will be sorely missed by all those he helped with his vast knowledge all-knowing advice.
